I have a problem when I'm measured how fast I can sprint. Because I get so stressed I forget about technique and I get very tense. Instead of making sure each step is powerful and that I push myself forward, I basically focus on driving my legs as fast as I can without giving proper force. While my hands move to weird direction, thus making myself look like a complete retard.

This of course makes me sprint slower, and it's also a rather unpleasant feeling.
How can I be relaxed right before I sprint?

Any tips/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I usually place my emphasis of concentration on my hips, glutes and knees when Im in the zone. This is what helps me stay relaxed. I try not to control my calves but instead visualize them as giant springs that my upper legs are connected to and relax them as much as possible while concentrating on the stride and opening it up. For me it takes about a month of practice every other day to create that mind body fluid connection. Once its established you will know it. A good drill is sprinting in sand on a beach but do not run distance in it if u intend to fully develop your sprinting technique, the two forms are night and day.

I usually find a funny book and read it. Actually I don't know if it really interests for myself isn't anymore but when I realized that it seemed me had poured away the pressure, my troubles and worries of life, just go just watch where you walk is to live every day, feel the earth beneath my foot, seeing people do their work, was walking and clams on the poor singing voice with a "horrible" voice, but not be anyone to complain. I always wonder whether you prefer to have it as myself

Each of us are different so that same does yoga or sleeping or watching movies. Yoga seems to be the best option for health wise

I'll curl up on the couch with a good book. That always helps me relax after a long, stressful day at work. So why don't you take a book that interests you and read right before the race? That will help take your mind of it and you won't be stressed out before the race.

Sometimes I play game to relax but this is not really a good way because you can be more stresses if you lose the game @@
I think you should come to a quiet place, listen to some soft music and PLay/do with something you like most. example, if you like playing with your dogs, you should do that as they can make you smile.

Everyone only can feel more comfortable if they do the things they like to do 🙂

Take a deep breath whenever the red light stops.
It's great to take deep breaths to relax while driving home, helping the driver to soothe the muscles after a stressful day of work and help calm them down. This is one of the easiest and most natural stress relieving methods to bring comfort to both the mind and body of the rider. Take a deep breath with your nose, then exhale through your mouth for about four seconds each inhalation and exhalation. Continue repeating like this about 20 to 30 times.

Honestly I just take long walks and try not to think about things too much. I focus on how many football fields I would pass if I would just keep walking.

I watch YotuTube videos, listen to music or play games to relax.
