So, are there any secrets to selling adspace on smaller forums/websites?
With an Alexa ranking of just over 3 Million, PR 0 and 5 uniques daily, is it even possible? If anybody can offer any advice to selling adspace, such as prices etc, and maybe even how to boost those statistics, it would certainly help not only me but others 🙂 .
With those stats i highly doubt anyone will buy advertising on your site (for real money anyway). They best was is to find advertisers yourself as you will get 100% of the money yourself.
You can get advertisers buy placing notices on your site or forum which have Markerplace sections.
Sam! you could consider offering your ad space free to members who agree to post regularly in return for it. That way you fill the space and you encourage activity on your site. At 5 uniques per day, it will be very difficult to sell the space for cash, I'd agree with Fowler on that one.
Activity is on the rise and it turns out I'm getting, on average, 10 unqiues daily.
Oh yeah, and it isn't a forum, it's a blog, so there isn't really any way of other people seeing how much activity the blog gets (apart from comments). I'm still open to advice.
Sam! you could add an "Advertise Page" on your blog and offer some ads slots from $2. If they sell really quickly increase your price. You could also promote the sale of your ad slots on various forums, including here on Forum Promotion and the business forum in my sig.
