I have a site which is on a host that has had an error for a long time and they are impossible to contact, so ZINC has kindly lent me his spare hosting account.

How do I get my site from the other hosting account to my new one? Sorry if this is a simple question but I don't know how to do everything yet 🙂

Make a backup of all the files and backup all the databases. Upload all files to your new host and import each of the databases (you may need to create them first). Once imported, they will fill up your database with all the tables etc.

Make sure to change your domain to the new nameservers.

It's pretty straight forward, but let me know if you run into any errors/blocks.

Thanks, although I just found out with the host issues my cPanel details are now not working.

Your sites are suspended so you are not able to access the files, databases, etc. at all until the suspension is lifted. You may be better starting them new and importing the current databases once you are able to gain access to your data.

I would also send Rick Ace a PM here about it since he owns H5Networks.

This transferring hosts is usually done by the host itself... Or else you would have to manually restore everything which seems to be a pain.

Well actually no it's not. This is only done by the host if they know your moving from another host and even then you have to request it.

Seems that linked you provided was hacked and the person or people doing it have done it to a lot of other WordPress powered websites.

This is one of the major reasons to choose your webhost carefully, it's usually worth spending the few bucks a month and going with a reputable web host to prevent incidences like these. It's also recommended that you always keep a local copy of your website, so in the case such things happen, you'll at least have something.

Unless you have backup copies of your websites, or are able to contact your web host to get backups, there isn't much anyone can do. However, once you have a backup in your hands, feel free to find a new web host and ask them to *restore* your website from your backup(s).

Thanks for the words. If I do many to get the site back I'll move it over to Simplix.
