I make sure to create profile and also get the discussions started on social media. That has helped me with the leads and also helped build my business so far.
 
I have tried paid marketing with social media and some works some doesnt, if you do marketing for free this is a better option i find when making a profile/page/group etc when making posts always hash tag them this will help drive traffic to your social media page and a percentage who engage may convert over to a website or community that you have linked to your pages on social media. also to think about when making these posts make sure the post is engaging to the kind of visitors you are looking for.

i find this method works well for me on some of my websites in the past and im sure hash tagging is a good way to promote your brand/website or product.

with this in mind always try to engage with the people that come over and ask questions through social media this in turn may convert to website visitor too.
 
Go for an 80/20 content strategy.

80% Native content that does not link to external properties. Use original content, relating to the niche and nature of your products but make sure it is extremely useful or extremely entertaining. Video does best. Photos second. Text-based with the formatted backgrounds do well. Ask questions! This or that type questions tend to get more answers and engagement than open-ended. If people have to think less, the better for you!

20% is external content - i.e. your promotional content, products, etc. Spread them out equally and you'll see change.
