It depends on the business. I think an online venture, given a smart admin, would work. However, a restaurant franchise would need far more, probably half a million or a million GBP or USD.

I wouldn't invest money in something that I wasn't interested in myself. I'm a graphic designer by profession, so if I was to start up on my own, it'd be quite expensive due to the cost of equipment and possibly employing people later. XD. I've freelanced and outsourced my work to be printed, but that's not quite the same as running your own business.

I'd be interested in whatever ethical thing that produced cash, but I'd give preference to what I liked, maybe.
