How would you make your own TV show or movie?

Say you wanted to create your own show, what would you need to do? How would you pitch it to producers? Do you have a genre?

I had an idea when I was younger to be for real life. Not Reality TV mind you, those are over the top drama shows. But real people in real situations. Even if it’s boring at times because that IS life. I would try to pitch it to someone who was more for the people than the money.
What about you? Would you want to script a series or a movie? What would it be about?

I would like to make a TV show with some original characters from different areas (a kid's animation mind you) and they all tell different stories in different episodes. Two of them interact. Sometimes three. They get a little philosophical, and they fight. The conflict is resolved. They move to a different area. The endgame is they meet God (who looks like a farmer) and tell them some choices. One of them is to end the series and another is to have a reboot.
But I have another idea for a comedy horror movie where the whole movie revolves around one button. People both warn or chant for you to push or not push the said button. It's a long drawn-out story and you go on this quest until you find the button and when the main character pushes it the movie ends with no explanation.
More of a modular way of writing in both cases.
