How you are promoting your forum ?

Just promotion really. Then again DIscord can kill it off big time as long as people see and hit the link and maybe join and the word goes around

ForumPromotion has definitely helped!
But social media has not, the newer Generations, Gen Z+ don’t care about forums which is a shame.
That's quite unfortunate, but there are still individuals who are really interested in forums as a platform for interaction and exchange of valuable ideas, you can focus more on targeting a different kind of audience.
Build your traffic first, you can hire a few paid posters to generate daily contents of about 100 posts or more. Then diversify your niche to include make money with hot topics surrounding crypto currency, affiliate marketing, forex cos these are among the hot topics many individuals including the Gen z's usually like to make research about .

Facebook is garbage tbh, the amount of low quality content posted to that site makes me wonder why that site even exists, humanity likes weird things I guess.. I’m thinking of deleting my account

My site is a technology site so I definitely can add crypto in to it! 🙂

There are many ways to promote a forum and increase its visibility and membership. Here are a few strategies you can consider:

  1. Use social media: Share links to your forum on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and encourage your followers to join. You can also create social media pages for your forum and use them to promote new discussions and events.

  2. Use search engine optimization (SEO): Optimize your forum for search engines by using relevant keywords in your titles, descriptions, and tags. This will help your forum appear higher in search results and attract more visitors.

  3. Use email marketing: Send newsletters or promotional emails to your existing members and encourage them to invite their friends to join the forum. You can also use email marketing to promote new discussions or events.

  4. Use paid advertising: Consider using paid advertising platforms, such as Google Ads or Facebook Ads, to promote your forum to a wider audience. These platforms allow you to target specific demographics and interests and can be an effective way to reach new members.

  5. Participate in online communities: Join other online communities and forums related to your topic and share links to your forum in relevant discussions. This can help you reach a new audience and attract interested members to your forum.

You need to modify your strategy a bit with this one. The algorithms of social media will work against you. Facebook and the rest want people to stay on their platforms, so their ads have a better chance of getting clicked. If you post an external link, it takes people away. So the "system" is set up to put less weight and ranking on external links.

I recommend a 90/10 strategy. 90% native content (text posts, reels, galleries, stories, live, etc.) and 10% promotional content.

Native content will help you because it will build an audience and, if you strategize right, even a community. Then it will be easier to convert them over to your forum versus just posting external content on the social pages.

  1. Use paid advertising: Consider using paid advertising platforms, such as Google Ads or Facebook Ads, to promote your forum to a wider audience. These platforms allow you to target specific demographics and interests and can be an effective way to reach new members.

Social ads are good to invest in when you fine tune them, and Google too. But I think we need to invest more into advertising on other forums.

I feel like the conversion rate is greater.

Because here's the thing. People on social don't often want to leave social. Social is what they're used to. It's where their friends and family is.

But people on forums are already using and familiar with forums. Target forums that also use the software you use and their audience will see ads to another forum that uses the same software.

My two cents at least 🙂 Great tips!

At the moment I am posting on forums with a link back to my forums in my signature and in my profile as well if the owner of the forum allows it and I am also doing post exchanges as well with other forums which also helps us both. I need to find more time to promote a little more but have been so busy at the moment.

Currently in the process of restarting mine, but I googled 'how to promote my forum 2023' and here I am 😛

FP is great for start-up forums and exposure.
However, we need good content as well. These days, forums are slowly dying thanks to the social media (_ _)/

Sadly not easy but we have to keep trying.

It's not even easy for me either. I did every single thing possible and got no result or outcome out of it.
It sucks all because of selfish big tech.
Yeeep, sadly.
Theres a few active ones out there and it’s possible but it’s definitely not as easy as it once was, almost impossible but not fully..
i do fear social media is slowly destroying forums though.

Yep, sadly agreed. I dislike social media and hope it dies before forums do fully.

young people that are younger than me like under 19 have no idea what its doing to their minds, its toxic and while I’m a daily user i’m not proud of it and prefer forums..

Facebook is constantly under fire, Elon Musk is ruining twitter so lets hope so..
