Hey guys, how's it going? Name's Jordan, I'm 21 from a town you've never heard of, Virginia (Goshen, to those of you curious. Nice place, I guess, albeit pretty boring when you've lived there for 18 years). Here's a few tidbits you should know about me, since I'm kinda bad at the whole "Writing paragraphs about myself" deal (Ironically, I'm great at writing out long passionate speeches about my beliefs, with me being most vocal about equal rights.):
I'm an animal lover: I always get looks for this, but I own around 20 cats (shocked looks more than anything.) currently. We owned more in the past, but you know how it goes: they run away, die of old age and poor health, etc and you just get burnt out on buying/taking too many new ones, so the numbers dwindle. Still, a few of our older cats are going to stick around for a few more years due to their quality of life. We have a 9 year old cat who could pass as two or three and who's still very quick on his feet and athletic and that's something I don't see changing (even though you never can tell when things will go downhill.)
I like Philosophy: Just earlier, I was reading a summary on "The Genealogy of Morals" on a site called Sparknote. Old Friedrich had some interesting perspectives in that one and I haven't even finished reading the summary yet (I can either be a slow reader or a fast one. I was also studying Freud, who is a very interesting mind in his own right, plus reading my forums, so I was slowed down due to being a pretty bad multi-tasker.
I like gaming: Old School platformers such as Mario, RPGs, whether they be modern or old school can be great. Favorite Old School one would probably be the one with Cecil and Kain, which is I think FFIV, while my favorite modern one would be Oblivion or FFX, both of which were awesome in terms of graphics, gameplay and length. I'm also a fan of FPSes, Survival Horror games, and some action adventure games. I also detest sports games since I'm not much for sports, aside from the "sport" (yeah, it's fake, I know.) of pro-wrestling, which I've watched since late 98/99.
Shows I like: Law & Order (I'm especially fond of Fontana, Briscoe and McCoy, though Angie Harmon's had her moments and is not at all hard on the old eyes), UFO Hunters, Ghost Hunters, Deal or No Deal, WWE Monday Night RAW (.....well, let's just call that an on again/off again relationship, actually.), forensic files (haven't watched it in a long time, since there aren't enough new episodes to consistently hook me), tales from the darkside, The Outer Limits, monsters, etc.
Books: I'm mainly a murder mystery kind of guy. Last book I finished was I think "The Sigma Protocol". Aside from that, if comics count, I used to have a box of them and am trying to get back into them.
Other hobbies: Fishing, collecting yugioh, sharing my sarcastic wit with the world (it's nice to get repped on other forums by somebody who thinks you're funny)
Idols: What idols? I have none. There are people I love and respect, such as family or philosophers/psychologists (less love for those two groups and more respect for those two groups. While I'm sure Nietzsche and Freud were teddy bears, I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me cuddling up to them.)
What makes me unique?: I have a white question mark in my otherwise hair. Also, while there are a lot of us, I can't imagine there are that many aspies on FP.net, though it'll be nice to proven wrong.
What I want from FP: Some referral commissions would be cool (Hey, honesty is the best policy 😉) and a chance to become exposed to other points of view to also share my own and see what people think of them.
Anyways, I've entered a brave new world and I hope things turn out for the better and that you guys and your forum are able to nab a new forum goer in me. If not, then I suppose that's the way the cookie crumbles, no hard feelings and all of that. Either way, if anybody wants to greet me in here, even if it's just a brief "Hi, ok, bye", by all means, feel free to do so. I'll be around for a little while, promoting a bit, viewing the forums, etc, so I doubt I'll be that hard to find.
