Personally, if I were to hunt, I would do it for the meat if it was something like deer or elk. If a set of predators were attacking animals or whatever, I would prefer to hunt them to keep them away from the area.
I've never got into hunting for meat, but I'm not ethically opposed. However, hunting for fun is barbaric I think - in most cases - save some sort of disease outbreak or overpopulation - but it's not nothing that should be fun.
I really wish we lived in a world where people didn't eat meat - or even killed insects or germs. Maybe that will be the future - but I don't think society is trying hard to reach that ideal. For instance, when will people simply get of their lazy bums and clean the home - and not buy cancerous roach killer? I mean, clean the home, fix the plumbing, then no roaches and no weird agent orange all over the place! 😉
Yeah lol. If you live in the city in an apartment, forget about it. You can keep your apartment insanely clean, and they'd still find a way in because of one other occupant in the building.
There is certainly fun in chasing animals, but they actually don't have to be killed. You could do some paint gun thing or maybe take a picture of them. I mean, come on!
All I can say is that part of it has been outlawed in Scotland since a few weeks ago. That's really towards those that hunt deer just to have their poor heads mounted on their walls.
But so many people just want others to kill the meat. Also a factory farm is far more barbaric than anything a hunter might come up with. OK, who has seen the movie Fast Food Nation?
