FrightSite, if you can show me bacteria or viruses running a forum or maybe pilot an plane, I will turn a vegetarian. Until then I shall go with the belief that bacteria are not above humans, we and bacteria are simply not on talking terms. Think of it like Cheryl and Ashley Cole. Us Humans have just slept with different women and have cheated on bacteria, bacteria now wants a divorce and is attacking us for not keeping it in our pants. Humans have the intelligence far beyond the capabilities of mere bacteria, however we also have a weakness to them. I'm sure we could completely wipe out bacteria if we somehow wanted to do so.

Our bodies can't fight all bacteria, in fact bacteria can kill us. With modern technology we can defeat bacteria and viruses, but we can't defeat all with just our bodies.

Hunting for food isn't too bad because, well, it's one life for another. :S Survival of the fittest. But to hunt just for the hell of it, well, to me that doesn't seem justified.

It's nothing to do with ability or not. I'm going to presume you think a disabled person is lesser than you because they cannot walk like you can? Because that's the mentality you're giving off right now.

It is clear we cannot defeat all bacteria because we don't have the means to, thus we are still able to be killed by bacteria. You claim something that can kill another is above another yet don't accept that bacteria can kill us and thus by your logic be above us.

Intelligence counts for nothing when you're lying in a hospital bed dying of a bacteria induced illness 🙂

Bacteria is probably our one, true threat, but we do have medicines and such which can overpower most of them.

So yes, I think humans are 'above' bacteria, though we can be harmed by them. Just like a bear could slash us to death or a shark eating us. 😛

I just said we have a weakness to it, so it seems I do realise that it can kill us. Don't you dare bring in disability into this debate, I have nothing against disabled people and my heart goes out to soldiers who return from the war with a disability. I don't think they are less than me, I think anyone with a disability is more than me by what they can do and how they tackle life. It isn't the mentality I'm giving off, you just mis-read everyone's posts.

We can defeat bacteria if we burn the whole planet, that is what I was getting at. In the end Humans have the available power to destroy not only themselves but everything on Earth, including bacteria.

Bacteria isn't actually above us though, yes it can kill us, yes we can kill it, but it is not above Humans.

It's a fact that bacteria can't do those things, not a claim. I didn't say "ZOMG OH MIGHTY BACTERIA BASHER BACTERIA SOOOOOOOO CANT FLY PLANES LOLZ ONLY I CAN PLAY FLIGHT SIMULATOR". I stated two blatent facts that they can't perform those two human tasks I provided, I didn't imply that to be above humans you need to perform them. I bolded what you quoted about my post that I shall now explain in clear words. THAT IS WHAT I WAS GETTING AT - basically means I threw that idea in to make you see what I was trying to put across. We can kill off bacteria with technology if we wanted to in the future.
