Hurricane Prep

Given the recent Hurricane Helene and now Hurricane Milton, how do you guys prep for an event like that?

I’m really fortunate to live where I do and don’t need to worry about Hurricanes and Tornado’s, don’t get me wrong we get our fair share of crappy weather with flooding, 100+mph winds etc but never the other two!

So outside of the normal, keep yourself safe, board up your home, move you car out of town if you can etc how do you prepare for it? How do you keep your mind/kids minds off of it?

We haven't been in the path of the last two hurricanes, but we've had some low impact from others. We'll get winds around 50mph and LOTS of rain. The only planning we have is to move the deck furniture into the garage.

For tornadoes, those are my worst fear. I'm in the basement asap, when the alert goes off!
