I am finally back after the ice storm of 2008 completely destroyed Methuen, MA. I have been without electricity, heat and running water for 5 days and have been volunteering with the American Red Cross to help those who were evacuated and homeless.
I've taken nearly 90 2816x2112 pictures and I hope to get them uploaded to a website soon for everyone to see.
My neighbors and me went to the dollar tree store to pick up some items for the kids that were at the cities shelter [the school], and there was a guy there who was bumming change off people in the streets so he could buy his children presents for christmas instead of getting food for himself.
This disaster was both scary and sad at the same time.
At the end of the storm, there was a reported 800,000 + people without power throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and a State of Emergency was declared both states, and is still in effect now.
We had tree removal and electrical companies from across the USA to come help us, and the National Guard was activated to help us also.
