I am booking a Chernobyl/Pripyat tour!

Just thought I'd let you know, I have decided to book a tour to Chernobyl, the place really interests me. I've wanted to go there for a while and for the last couple of years I've done lots of research on it!

I heard the Ukrainian government had opened up a tourist scheme thei,e but then shut it down or something.. Is the whole site open? or just the city?

No the plant is not off-limits 🙂 you visit the whole place as the radiation levels have dropped drastically. And I haven't booked it yet but most places are about $120USD per person. Then you have your flights, accommodation etc.

The animals around there can still survive because their life span is not long enough to grow tumors.

Most animals only live around 15 years there if lucky.

It is, but after so many years, the radiation levels have dropped enough for people to go; it will still be uninhabitable by Humans for another 25000 years according to ChaCha.

I am sure the tour will not include the heart of the location where it occurred (unless you are prepared to wear a bodysuit 😛)

He says he's going to the nuclear plant, which I doubt; as I thought the entire area around the reactor was quarantined.
