I am planning on starting a Paid To Post Forum

Hello everybody,

I am planning on starting a PTP forum. I have hired a co-admin from here as well. I have a spare vBulletin license as well which I was using on Marvelous Forums. I have 2 domains marvelousforums.com and marvelouslounge.com. I am planning on starting a PTP forum on marvelousforums.com and I want to hear from other people what they think and also share their experience and thoughts. Also, if anyone is willing to help us out getting this forum up and running, just let us know. If you think you can contribute enough then we can pay that person as well. If the person is helpful enough then we can keep him/her as our permanent mod as well. If a person is willing to share its expenses then he will be given a share of our monthly revenue as well.

What happened to the original Marvelous Forums?

The big question I would have in relation to your PTP forum is how you are going to make enough money from it, to pay the members.

I agree with Fergal. What will be your income? You will need ads making money right away.

I am willing to take loss for a month or so, but I am hoping to get enough members and posts so I can sell ad space and get more clicks from Adsense.

Things might not work out as you plan, if that's what you're going to rely on.

Well, I wish you good luck Iron hide, starting a paid to post forum isn't easy, even though you know you will loss, one thing I can share about it. Don't think too much about much advertising revenues with banner or text sales as you will have to make them dirt cheap, unfortunatly PTP forums have reputation of attracting penny runners an thus not really attracting good advertisers.

Well it may not work out that way some times. You may have to take a loss for the first couple of months before you start gaining a steady profit/revenue. Sure you can use adsense and ad space selling as a way for income, but crowding your forum with ads won't attract much attention for visitors. I wish you luck in your project, but one thing I recommend you do is make sure you have enough money for payouts for the first couple of months.
