I Hate Fireworks

Agreed, our neighbors are setting them off in the street, my dog hasn't left my feet all evening, and they're shooting them off up by the nearby mountains, at a time when wildfires are common and rainfall is scarce. Seems like a good idea...

I love Fireworks 🙁 I like that over here in the UK though they're limited to very specific days such as New Year's, Firework's Night and religious festivals.

It's always something that won't stop, around two to three times a year. I say as long as it's not over the top and not crazy then that should be good.

We are aware of that, however, how long have Fireworks been going on for now and how many times people wanted to stop and failed over the 50 years.

We normally watch the fireworks outside our bedroom window but this year we heard that since the towns weren't going to be doing them that someone was going to set off some professional ones in a field not far from a gas station in town. So we parked at the gas station and had a great view. They weren't super loud like M-80s so it was really pleasant. It's the noisemakers that are the worst and really, what's the point of them?

We live rural so people tend to shoot them off for any occasion. But I do agree, they scare wildlife. The smaller ones, okay, but the loud booms, I can honestly do without.

I don’t hate fireworks per say but rather when people let them off in residential areas. Risk of fire and property damage are huge.

Just because something hasn’t changed, does not mean you should stop fighting for it. It may never change, but don’t give up the fight.

You’re very dismissive of others opinions on fireworks. If you’re not looking for others opinions for the sake of discussing it, why post? I could make the argument that people with epilepsy or seizure disorders will know to expect fireworks around this time especially in the US. Plan accordingly. As for wildlife, we have destroyed so much of their habitat. The arguments you’ve chosen don’t really justify just shutting down Empire’s viewpoint with an opinion. But hey, Murica.

I love them, they're often times only for one night so it's not that stressful for animals. We had large fireworks near our house and our cats were fine. For humans there's work arounds if they bother you. Ear plugs for example are a good cause. Trust me, from someone who's uncle was murdered by someone who had a full blown PTSD incident there's a TON of worse things for PTSD out there than fireworks.

Yeah, they are all over my yard and the roofs on the garage and house. The alley behind my garage looks like a war zone with att the remnants of the neighbors shooting off the crap.
