So, finally my paypal got confirmed. I got it a couple days ago, but it took awhile to get it confirmed.

I'm looking for a very cheap forum host, that allows ftp access. I want it to be an IPB forum, but I might be able to deal with phpBB3 forum. I want to be able to instal alot or a few modifications. I also would like to have that google ad thing (it pays me for the adds).

Basicly I'm asking whats the cheapest forum I can get, that has all those good features, and has good support. I dont really want to pay a monthly fee over $10..

Well since no one else would take a stab at this.

First off your post screams I'm doing it for the money. All hosts allow ftp access and what you run on your forum is up to you, you can run an IPB and a PHPBB, it's all PHP when it comes down to it, and all hosts allow that.

You are talking about google adsense, it'll make money, but only if people click it.

You contradict yourself saying you want to install a lot or a few mods, well what is it?

The cheapest forum is a free forum. It doesn't get cheaper than that.

GOOD LUCK!

No, I cheaper forum is paying for it, free forums arent cheap, you dont pay for free forums, DUHH !!!!

A few modifications might be ok, it doesnt matter, does it?

Are you going to tell me a good host ?

You would need to buy hosting and IPB separately. I can sell you hosting with cPanel and FTP access for £1 GBP per month (PM me if interested).

IPB costs $150, which is about £92.

For the adverts, you will need to sign up for Google Adsense -> http://google.co.uk/adsense and then once you have been approved you can create ads in there. You'll be given a code to add to your forum (if you need help just use the "Forum Support" section). ~smile~

So the packages I seen are only for the cpanel ?? I think it said packages, meaning everything for like$27. not no $150+.

Snowboi I use IPS (invision power) hosting, they have very fast hosting and you get a free IP.Board (Encoded - no mods). Best hosting I have ever used, you could buy a license along side it.

You have 2 choices. One is $150 the other one is $300. Also they offer to host your IPB Forum for $10 a month. The only other why to get a IPB is free forum that have ads all over like IPBfree or invisionfree.

You get a forum free with the InvisionPower hosting.

Basically if you want IPB you can get hosting through IPB for $10.00 a month but if you want to be able to install mods you need to buy a license for $150 and get a host.

If you choose phpBB3 the only cost will be the hosting and you can either have free hosting or paid hosting.

Quick Question: Did you need to get confirmed before you start getting money??
No, you can send and receive money before you are confirmed but the only problem is that you can't withdraw money and there are some limits.

You should probably start off with a free forum, and put ads on it unless you have money, then you could upgrade it.

Fowler, do you know what the limits are?

I have plenty of free host forums, but I want a more professional one, cheap one.

I would go with BlueHost.com for the host. Less than $10 a month, and free domain name. Use phpBB for your software, as its free, and you can always upgrade to IPB later if you gte extra money or whatever. With phpBB you can install any MODs you want at no extra costs. If you really hate phpBB you can look at other free forum software, like SMF.

Richard, why not use MyBB like Leon did? That has all the mods like cash and arcade on it. -D-

Not off the top of my head as i am verified now.

If you sign up you should be able to see somewhere in your account area the limits you can send to people and withdraw.

Ok thanks. I just want to make sure I can receive the $10 that I won, and send it to my billing account for hosting when I get enough to deposit.

I will check when I signup later this week (and will post the limits here).

Well the site only allows me to deposit $25 at a time by paypal, no less. But I have a backup if I can't -happy-

You can send no money unless you get a paypal credit card or link your account to a bank account.
