If you compare them with their competition, then no, they aren't good. They removed half of phpBB3's features and make you pay for some of them. installing a real phpbb3 is just as easy if you find good cpanel hosting that has an auto installer program.

I use fi.st for webhosting, but if you arn't that advanced, then I would use Prophpbb.

Well I would suggest to stay away from ForumUp and FreeForums.org.

I don't how good they are but Forumotion is worth a try.

I would try doing a real host. That way you have full access to the mySQL and PHP date just in case you want to move host or want to do your own backups.

http://000webhost.com lets you do your own. and you can pack up and leave to change to anther host if you like.
I have a domain and host now took me two weeks to get my forum running right I went from lefora to forumer ( forumer is good) I left because I wanted more freedom no ads and I wanted access to my database to back it up in case I wanted to change host or in case that company randomly shut down. I'd recommend the extra work to install phpbb on a host server because you get no ads and more site freedom
