I want to create a phpBB forum, but I have a low budget. In total, I'm looking to spend around $40 to $45 on both domain and hosting( for a year). My aim is to monetize the forum with AdSense. Your suggestions are highly appreciated. @Nomad I was told you have enough experience on phpBB. Can you give me suggestions too?

See @USHost247 for shared hosting. Starter package is 3.95 per month and comes with a free domain it looks like. 3.95x12=47.40 for a year. Not sure if they have a discount for the Starter package if paid in full for the whole year. Phpbb can be installed from the Cpanel account.
Alot of them come with Softaculous Script to install from. I am not sure how well Stella from Namecheap will do with phpbb. Never used it for that. 1.48 a month for the 1st year is pretty good. You can always start out with it, and if you don't like it, you can move to something else.
Namecheap has some decent hosting, Stella should be enough for a phpBB forum. Also if you're looking for a reactions mod, I used this one for my phpBB forum. Keep in mind it's not a free mod, but it doesn't cost much either. I highly recommend it for your forum, it's better than the "thank you" mods IMO.

Thanks for the recommendation. Anthony is correct. You can use our Softaculous software to install and maintain your phpBB forum software. This comes standard even on our cheapest package, $3.95/month. If you use the SALES50 coupon, you will save 50% on your bill.

At this moment, Namecheap is running holiday discounts and you can get a dot com domain for $6.49. Cheapest hosting on Namecheap for the first year is under $20. So, you can practically start with less than $30. If you need any help you can send me a PM.
I think the shared hosting on namecheap is above $20. Precisely $22.88 or am I missing out on something?
sorry my mistake, it is $1.98 per month if you pay 12 months advance. If you are looking for cheaper option, you can try Orange Host which is $1 per month and you get a free dot com domain if you pay 12 months in advance/.

That's not even close to the cheapest hosting deal. There is a hosting company called Host25cents where you can host a website for just 25 cents per monthI don't know how the hosting company would come ahead on that deal.

Have you used them and how is their service? Is it also compatible with phpBB?
I have tested Orange Host and it is good. You get cpanel with Softaculous so you can use any forum software you want, including phpbb. If you need assistance, I can help you.

Thanks. Softaculous makes it a lot easier but when I checked, hosting is $1.95 at the moment and it's not with free domain.
