Well i can install one for you. Any free one that is.

But as far as ads, there will be no ads, but adding ads will be up to you.

cool can you do that? i need a graphics forum.. so ya.. upload it and let me know when its done.

Well 2 things. It has to be your host, and then you will have to supply me with the FTP details. Or else i won't do it.

Ill also do it if he isn't on at the time or doesn't want to do it. and as he said above ya you do need a host and provide us with a FTP

what host should i have.. like use forumer.com that ipb thing?? cus i can do that..

and

what is a FTP????

Forget it... If someone else can explain it to him, then they can take the job, but i am not very good at explaining.

I recommend just using IPBFree or ZetaBoards or something. Proboards is also nice and easy.

mhk ill have the other guy help me...

Lexic you don't understand, they are not host's, they are free forum hosting platforms, go to Google and type in free host's and you will see, I recommend site-frost.com.

Let me try to help you out here Lexic,

You will need to go to a site that lets you have free hosting, for example I use forumotion.com, you register with them and then you set up a password and such as the admin. Once you have done this you can then give the login details to the person who is going to help you out, they can then have access to your control panel and sort out all the layout and details that you are asking them to do. Once the set up is done you can change your login details or password to make it only know to you again. Because you are registering the new forum in your name and your details once the forum is set up you will still be the full owner of the site......If the person helping you out does all this they will officially be the owner because they entered all their own personal details.

I would suggest you read up a bit on all the details of how to set up a site first if this part is already a bit confusing as you may struggle later on once it's handed back to you.

On a side note, I notice that basic manners are a bit lacking in this thread, it would be more beneficial if a few please and thank you's were included, people respect you better. I'm only trying to help here :great:

I have a question. If he was using a free host, shouldn't he forum already be installed?

ok i will use that one =

Ok first off I have to pull you on the "double post" you should always use the edit button to add to a post if you think of something after you have already posted and no-one else has posted in between within 48 hours.

What I was saying above was virtually the same as what you want, it doesn't have to be Forumotion it can be any site but you haveto have it registered by you first before someone can help you.

If you don't know how to set up a hosting account, or even know what kind of hosting account we are talking about, i don't think you should even be attempting to do this.

There are plenty of free forum hosts out there that do the brunt of the work for you.

Exactly what death180 said, you don't have a clue on what to do much and we may be wasting our time helping you as the heat may play on you and you might just chuck it.

The problem is that if you can't install one then it really is not a good idea that you run a hosted one yourself. Installing the forum is the easiest part really when it comes to the technical side of forums. Restoring your site, upgrading your site, fixing errors caused by mods or plugins etc. are the harder parts. If you can't install on yourself i think it would be best to stick with a free hosted forum or practice and learn about how to install phpBB etc and test it out first so uou get used to it.

Also please do not double post. Post everything in one post. Also please use proper English where possible no one wants to read "txt" talk.
