I need your opinion on my social network!

So some of you guys who I talk to reguarly might know that I'm building a social network from scratch as a school project, which means my marks are based on how well I write up my report on this project and also how the outcome is.

As part of my documentation I need your opinion on the design. Your comments will be going into my report, so do remember that.

The design of the index is below. All I need is your basic thoughts, as if I was making this for you, and you're the stakeholder. Even if you say "It looks great" that would still help as I need to get an idea of what others outside of the classroom think of it.

I'm making it you can make it any colour you want and if you want to go a little crazy you can edit any colour on the page 🙂

What exactly is the purpose? How is it a social media site? I see music and a day planner. What plans do you have for it? What features does it boast? I'd love to see something in the direction FB used to be - a simple hub for people to talk.

Onto thoughts about the design, I like that its clean looking but I think it could use a bit more design on like the top part. An example:



Something creative and flowing.

Anyways, I'll give more detailed feedback when I find out what all features you have planned. Nice start 🙂

I think you need to simplify your project to:
Profile pages
Photos
Info about person
Messaging capabilities
News feed / personal statuses

To be honest, even "walls" are becoming less popular.

I've completely modernized the design and it looks a lot better than that above design. 🙂
