My name is Elena. I am 45, and I am addicted to historical RPGs. Or this is what my husband says.

I am an economist and I work in international relations and European affairs, so I speak or write in English almost daily.

I am sailing to you from the Black Sea... or rather a bit more inland, not from a port, but from Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Still, I swear I am not a vampire - neither Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) was one! He was just a cruel prince like some others of his time.

I've been writing stories since I learned how to write - not in English, in my mother tongue, and some are novel -length. Some of my characters here are taken from my stories and brought to this new environment, about some others I intend to write later...

I like old ships, with sails, and I know many things about them... but not as much in English. I like history, learning about less known cultures and civilisations, I like listening to music and watching movies... a rather normal person. I'd say!

I also like foreign languages (besides English, I am a professional interpreter for French and Spanish as well). I speak Greek too, at average level.

I am the administrator of "Before the Mast", a roleplaying site which is writing a pirate-related swashbuckling adventure since August 2010.

Anything else, ask and I'd answer!

Very interesting intro. You mean you're Elena from Vampire Diaries?

Anyway, welcome to Forum Promotion. Have a nice stay and good luck with your projects! See you around the forum soon.

Woah, nice intro.

Welcome to FP, Elenitsa. 🙂

I am Elena, but not from Vampire Diaries. Not even from Troy. Only from Romania. And since the name was already taken, I used the Greek diminutive, which usually is available.

You! What're you doing here?! No, seriously. XD I swear you're everywhere, but I'm surprised to see you here.

Of course I am everywhere, @Uaithne! And so are you. Since we have recently moved to jcink, I have to build back what we have achieved in 40 months on invisionfree...

And thank you, Ho Ho Ho! A merry Christmas to you!

That explains why you don't have any posts on your forum. I was wondering about that.

Hi Elena! Welcome to FP! My husband is into learning different languages, he will be learning French soon. He dabbled in Mandarin Chinese for a little while but then learned Spanish and is now fluent in that, he is learning Tagalog now and soon we will both be practicing French. One day I hope to travel and visit all over Europe but particularly Spain, Ireland, and Greece 🙂
