I want to create a forum currency

I am thinking about creating and using a forum currency that can be cashed in by members of my forum for things such as forum homepage and category banner ads, forum privileges (including enhanced signature lines); and other fun forum perks.

I am currently using SMF forum software. Please suggest ideas or ways to create a forum currency based on posts created or responses made.

My main intention of using the forum currency is to increase my forum activity level, such as with new posts. Is this a very popular way to increase posts?

This is a popular way to increase posts on my forum. Depends on your niche of your forum but I'm pretty sure they would use it.

I'd use IP.Board + this hook. They work great together and you can put anything in there as an item that you want to sell and for however many points you want. The support on the support topics of their hooks is fast and just awesome.
