Anyone else miss Postloop? it was a really awesome tool for forum owners and for writers to make a little extra scratch posting on forums.

Kinda sucks that it's no longer around.......

How were they able to afford to pay people?

Forum owners purchased content packages, and writers were paid a percentage of that revenue. That was the main source of income, allowing them to compensate writers.

Postloop shut down around 7–8 years ago, and TheForumWheel emerged as a replacement, but it also eventually closed.

For example, theforumwheel’s credit system wworked like this: 1 000 Credits. $75.00 ;
300 Credits. $25.00 ;
500 Credits. $40.00 ;
750 Credits. $58.00

Postloop’s credit system was quite similar. I believe it was cheaper(somewhat).

I remember Postloop! I never used it myself but I've heard many good things about it. There's been a few websites recently that popped up but they all seemed to have died out. I was working for one of them too a couple years ago, Posting Bay.

I miss it but it was only good temporary. I could put so much money on it and get hit with instant new registrations and posts and then that was it.

Some people did stay on afterwards as non-paid members but not many.

@Mike30 was talking about integrating something like this into ForumRace/MicroLikes at one point in time, but never heard anything else about that.

I would never expect a paid poster to stick around. If that's the goal, you have unreasonable expectations. 😛

Yeah, it was just a nice and quick way to make some pocket change so to speak and it helped give forum owners a small boost.

If the payment to the posters came from the payments coming in from forum owners/admins, then why doesn't someone else try to pick this up again?

The one thing I really liked with Post loop is that you would need to make ten quality non spam posts on the Post Loop forum before being approved to post on other forums. This gave a sense of the person's posting style and quality.

If they didn't do those posts right I think they would need to do another ten with some feedback to try to improve.

Postloop was a great idea for a project, and really great forward-thinking on the technological side of things from Postloop's admin, Ryan.

I was heavily involved as a content creator on Postloop back in the day and made probably $1k or more as a teenager from working on some orders there.

I think the simple reason it "died" was nobody used it anymore. I actually had a look for Postloop right at the beginning of COVID lockdowns in 2020, and it was still around then but clearly dead, with only two sites even listed on there if I remember correctly. I just don't imagine there'd be the demand, nor the ability to get the "right" content creators paired with forum owners with the budgets for forum posting.

Postloop was invented during a "forum boom" remember, where everybody and his dog was throwing cash at forums to try and become one of the one in ten thousand that took off. We don't have that anymore... when was the last time a brand new forum made a real, huge splash in the forum world? And I'm talking "big" splash... y'know hundreds/thousands of daily active users? I can't think of an example.

Postloop was my favorite site to use to grow my forum when it existed.

Mike is still working on it, you can check it on microlikes.com
I have my forum under it.

Well guys,
I am passionate about making something like postloop for the love of forums. I started it with ForumRace API connection and then created MicroLikes for the purpose of facilitating the payments to avoid the high fees from PayPal for mini-transactions and a way to insetivize users on forums with tips.

When I launched MicroLikes, It got a supper success as a way for users to make money by tipping/contests, etc..., but I found ZERO economic support from forum owners. So I had to stop/put in halt the project because it started to hit my pocket hard
I even gave away $3,000 worth of microlikes to the first forums. And found extremely very little support.
When I asked for a fricking $10/month to help the project, NON pay a single dime Even when I spent hundreds on their forums. What a disappointment I got.

From my dumb perspective, I was putting money to start/show how the concept works and how it helps to their forums. But forums believed somehow for weird reasons it was right for me to pay for content/new users/contests on their forums as a permanent thing all out of my pockets.

So, many of you noticed that after all going so well, everything came back to square zero. And some of you told me it wasn't work $10/month what I was doing.... and others simple ignored my request for support. You have no Idea how that kicked my a***.

So, I decided to use microlikes on my own forum. I can tell you, it works wonders and I can say better than what posloop ever was.
But I can only payout MicroLikes as I get resources. If each of you would only spend $10 - $20 on your forum per month, that for sure will keep your forums alive. I still don't comprehend how some of you think or wish to have or start a forum without spending
money,,, and still pretend to keep up a forum. I don't comprehend...

As of now, I only have like 25 members, because I decided that nobody enters in my forum without supporting with a membership.

But I if remove the membership, I would have thousands of active users on my forum. Guys, MicroLikes works..... but somehow you don't see.. (or don't want to see)

The other thing, I don't pay for posts, I pay per WORD using MicroLikes, And it works wonders too, since the user can have more natural conversations since they don't have to make up a paragraph to write a simple response and be characterized as "too short" of a post.

Brothers, I have spent thousands for the love of forums, and you can't even lets say Donate $10/month???? for a cool project that benefits all of your forums??? And then on threads like this wishing a "postloop" comeback???

So, anyways, I still brainstorm and keep working on the project in the background as I get resources, Sometimes I can spend a lot,
sometimes I can't spend a dime. I am an option trader, sometimes I earn, sometimes I loose. So... I keep doing it with my own resources as I go.

But yes, a type of postloop is needed, MicroLikes was mainly created for that purpose. So, if you want to support $$$, pm me.

I even started a new thread where I would pay $50/month for 6 months to 5 forums to start again... So I really want to do something, but talking is cheap, an many of you only talk and don't DO.

MicroLikes it's postloop reloaded. To another level. You want postloop??? Support the MicroLikes project and you will have it.

Probably not the best idea to spend your time going on about how nobody likes your product enough to support it...not a great advertisement. People vote with their wallets, if it's worth backing, they will. You won't get far telling people you feel bad they're not smart enough to see your vision.

It's always the best idea to spend my time on things I like. So, don't worry about my time (it's well used)
Short vision people it's a thing. They really exist. No doubt! 🙂 And people that walks with their elbows too 😉
Maybe it's your time not well spent quoting my post, it wont get you far either.

Edit: Lol... "people that walks with their elbows" it was my translation from a Spanish saying to English, which I believe many of you didn't understand what I meant.

"People that walks with their elbows" Translated to Spanish means people that don't like to spend money even on things they like.
