I go on filezilla and take out the old On and Off Icons and put in the new ones I created and they dont show up but when I put the old ones back in they work. Anyone help me?

What icons are you on about? If they are part of a styles imageset or theme images then you'll need to refresh the imagesets and the theme images via the Admin CP and purge the cache in the ACP as well.

Okay, you need to make sure the filenames are the same as the old ones. I'll draw this out with examples just so there's no confusion (at least theoretically):

Old "ON" icon image name = "on.gif"
Old "OFF" icon image name = "off.gif"

> You need to make sure that the new images for the on and off icons are identical

New "ON" icon image name = "on.gif"
New "OFF" icon image name = "off.gif"

> Once this is done, go into your ACP, scroll down and click 'Clear Cache'
> Then go back to a page on your forum where the "on" and "off" icons are supposed to be showing
> Press Ctrl+F5 (If you have a Windows based computer)

to refresh the page you don't need to press ctrl+f5, just f5.
