IcyBoards is a host that has been around for a few months now. We are an alternative to the usual annoying ZetaBoards. We have offer things no other free host offers, such as the ability to use plugins, as well as uploading your own themes/templates. NO other free host lets you do that!

Your free to advertise at my forum. If I would have known about IB when IPBFree went out than I would have made a forum through you guys.

Nice concept.

Might want to try to clean up the loanding page and the surrounding pages to something more 2011.

Users love fancy sites, but don't over complicate things!

Obviously based it around your PHP/CGI scripts.
 
Jay, I appreciate the comments about the design. This has always been a slight issue. I am great with php and the back-end coding skills, but awful with designing. I looked around and this was the best template system I could find, so I modified it quite a bit from what it originally was, and changed it to fit Icyboards. If we could find someone to do a custom template for us, that would be great, but usually people want large sums of money which is something I don't have.

Luke M, yes the s1 stands for sever 1. We only have one server and probably will only have one for a long time. I thought about doing it without the s1, but I'd rather keep those directories available for future expansion on the icyboards.com site. I can give everyone a subdomain like yourname.s1.icyboards.com similar to how jcink handles his, but the issue is I have to make a separate entry in cpanel for each subdomain and it would get crazy. If we ever get larger and develop a steady income that can fund a VPS, we will move in that direction. I have also thought about buying a domain just to use for the forums, then you could have yourname.domain.com but haven't really had a chance yet.

Luke, I have seen those scripts, but I don't want to have hundreds of DNS entries. I am thinking more of trying to figure out wildcard dns which will capture anything before .s1.icyboards.com.

I just registered myself a forum and I can see that icyboards is going in the right direction because we can customize our styles which is great.

Thanks. This was one of the main points of opening my host is that you can edit and fully customize your templates/themes. With other hosts, you just have a "board wrappers" are and a css sheet. You can't move things around or edit the actual templates.
