You have a great, awesome idea. You have the articles or the graphics, or the content for the site. By the time you start the real work in presenting your site, you have no motivation or inspiration to continue with it. What do you do?

Do you write a list of what to do's? Do you ask for help?

If you have no motivation then you are just creating a forum for the sake of creating one.
You should be driven from day one if the forum is to succeed.

Not entirely true. Say the first week you are really motivated and then something happens so then the second week you are not motivated. There are so many factors which affect motivation.

Yes but who would just want to make a site just to have 1, I would rather not bother and just joina site already made and active. Then make 1 myself, that is of course if I had no motivation.

Site does not mean forum, which is what you are interpreting it as.

Website or forum no passion means no active forum/website.

So what if you "had" motivation and "had" everything set up, but for some reason, you lost it?

You would definitely want to get it back. So, my question is, how?

My problem is that I have ideas, but don't have the motivation to properly execute them. Thus, I stick to the forum I already created. xD

This happened with me when I opened up my James Bond forum last year. I put so much preparation into the actual site, then once it was open and I hit like 2k posts, I just gave up because I stopped putting effort into it. What a regret that is.

Whenever I lose motivation, I'd change around the site a bit. Maybe add a new feature, change up some of the graphics, organize an event, etc.

I know what you mean David. I prepared www.yougotnuked.com and .net to be a great gaming blog - hired 5 writers and just never opened the site.

There are lots of articles pending, but I am just disappointed that I lost motivation.

Mate I'd read your blog if you kept it up to date 😀

If you have no motivation to do anything like this, then why not neglect doing it? A lot of motivation is required for something like this. Pursuing an idea just for the sake of it is why most forums/sites fail.

Precisely that. What have you done about it?

If I had a great idea and all, I will sell the idea with graphics andwhatever I already did to someone, just to make it prosper

You cant really ask people how to get motivated. Motivation is a personal thing and different things will work for different people. If you cant figure it out then dont move forward with your idea.

That's why I asked "What do you do?" in my first post. Not "Please tell what I should do". 😉

People stop pointing out that you shouldn't start ventures if you have no motivation because at one point we have had motivation and lost it.

Kino thanks mate, I appreciate it but I don't know if I am going to open it ever.

David, I haven't done anything about it - I just don't see the point.

If anybody wants to run it PM me, while I'm here.
