Ideas for a Contest Prize

Well, we're all webmasters / admins here so I'd like to ask your thoughts on something: what are good prizes in a posting contest on a webmaster / admin forum? Here are a few ideas I came up with:

1. Free WebHosting, Unlimited Bandwidth, for 1 year @ HawkHost. (1 randomly selected winner)
2. New .com domain names (3 randomly selected winners)
3. Amazon Gift Card for ~$35 (1 randomly selected winner)
4. Cash via PayPal for ~$35 (1 randomly selected winner)
5. Cash via PayPal, prizes: $20, $10, $5 (3 randomly selected winners)
6. Any other suggestions you may have. 🙂

Also, would you rather the contest run on a lottery (1 post = 1 ticket) or on a fixed system (20 posts = 1 ticket, 1 ticket per account)?

PayPal and gift cards are always my favourite prizes! I think 5-10 posts to gain a ticket is an ideal number.

I think all of those prizes are great ideas for an admin/webmaster forum 🙂 5-10 per ticket sounds like fair number as well.

Just curious why have a contest and then randomly select winners?
Where is the competition in joining the contest?

good point, imo. I think there should be some competition. Although i"d also support the idea of a random drawing so the same person doesn't win every time.
