Ideas

From looking at your site homepage you seem to be a competitor of Facebook. Now they are a challenging competitor, so if you want to get people to join and participate, you will have to either focus on a particular niche or offer something better than FaceBook that your target market values.

Good luck with it!

just a tip here on the looks.

All the social networks till date you can see (except orkut maybe) have got simplistic designs, try not to overdo on the looks part keep it simple.

And a hell lot of advertising is the backbone of a social network

I don't know if this is what you are asking about but I would suggest a new design for the site and more details on the first page

Post some articles in some other sites and link back too your own site , or se yahoo answers

@fergal
I'm not really trying to compete with facebook.
I really hate facebook I was trying to make something more like twitter.

@Ashish92/Tindris
Ya I wasn't sure about the design.

@tindris
I'm a terrible writer I couldn't think of anything to write for the home page.

@tbofram
I wish I could but look at answer above

For tboframs idea maybe you could hire some writers?

If you want to be like twitter you have to offer a way of getting your site out there, noone will want to make status updates that only show on sociaya.com. What makes twitter popular is that it is everywhere.

Ya I'll make a API to show updates on your site.
and I can't hire a writer :-\

urmm jsut asking do you have money to invest if you wanna make it big ?

This really started out as a little project to test me.
but then I thought why not try to make it into something.
and no I never have money I have recently been making cash as a freelancer and all that goes into making .cz.cc domains into .com domains.

hmm without investing money that niche is impossible to get into.

best option I can give you is to leave that site and either try to sell ti or if you have time till it expires then park it at sedo and gather up some revenue to cover up at least what you invested.

What can you offer that Twitter doesn't? If you want to compete with a major established site like that, you need to give people a good reason to stop using Twitter and to start using your site.

I don't know, but you need to think of a reason for people to join. There probably isn't much point on promoting your site until you can come up with something.

I just want to see what other people want in it.
I made it the way I thought people would like it but I guess that didn't work.

Twitter is a micro blog. So add a like button for what people put. also have a related post option were if someone post about forum promotion it will pull up others post about forum promotion
