If a forum had an arcade on it

If you asked me years ago, I would have voted YES. But with so many people on so many forums, we barely have time to post much less play games. I say that because some forums have offered games like a Scavenger Hunt & while a few people played, others just didn't have the time as they had to go to the next forum!
 
I remember that it used to be a hot thing in the past. Having game contests with those little flash arcade games. Now? I probably wouldn't participate due to time restraints and the ease of getting same apps on smart phones without having to login to a forum.
 
I voted yes because I’m sure I’d go through and play every game on it at least once. I miss arcades on forums, especially those add-ons that kept track of our high scores so we could all compete with each other.

I had a few high scores in the arcade we had here on FP back when we were using phpBB.
 
I never really did before on forums back then, so likely not. I may give it a chance though.
 
I remember when I first started my general chat forum in 2009, one of the things I started with was an arcade my members loved the arcade and tried to beat each other's high scores. I would reset all the scores each week so everyone had a fair shot at being the top scorer per game that they enjoyed in the arcade.

Nowadays you don't see arcades as much as you used to but if there was ever a forum I joined that had an arcade, I would definitely jump back into the arcade and play.
 
I would, but nowadays with Flash being gone, finding an Arcade that solely uses HTML5 is pretty difficult to find. I've been wanting an Arcade for Xenforo for awhile but no one wants to develop the add-on, unfortunately.
 
I used to play a couple of games when Christianity Haven had an arcade. But I didn't use it on any other forums.

I did a few times and even see contests made out of them before. Like who could get the highest score on Tetris or some other arcade game.
 
I'd probably have no use for it since I have plenty of games I need to play on Steam and I'm not a big gamer anyway.
 
I don't think the forum part as much to do with this as much as how poor the arcade options have become. Overall they are far behind basic PC gaming and users don't seem to be searching out browser games anymore.
 
I love shitty arcade games on forums. Brings me back to those sweet times when forums were chill.

So yeah, absolutely.
 
It may depend on what kind of games available in the arcade.
 
Honestly even when people had arcades on their forums back in the day, I rarely played the games. Most of the games were those weird flash games that weren't that fun IMO. xD
 
Probably not these days, honestly. Back in the day when I saw them on forums, yeah. I remember I used to play a lot of Zookeeper on one of the forums I was on that had an arcade, and it became one of my favorite games (I even have it on my phone now!).
 
Yes, I used to love these! I always enjoyed competing against my fellow members for high scores.

Sadly, they just didn't move with the times: It was a bit depressing setting one up in early 2018, and finding that the available games were mostly just Flash games from the early 2000s.
 
I feel that this concept was very popular a decade ago with phpBB 2 and original release of v3. Haven't seen an arcade on a forum for a long-while however, so it would probably be of initial interest and intrigue. Not sure how active I'd be on it after a while though
 
I was never a fan of forum arcades. I felt members spent more time playing games than they did posting.
