If you are considering using a free host for your website, blog or forum, please consider the advice that Lisa has to say about "the price of free hosting".

I've noticed that when I used free hosts in the past, it's more difficult to set everything up initially and in addition can cause some problems when updating the software.

Sometimes I'd get error messages when trying to update wordpress. I had to do everything manually in order to update wordpress or similar software.

If you are going to run a business on a free host, you are going to have a problem because the space and bandwidth is limited when using a free host.

So please take the advise that Lisa provides in addition to my experience when considering the option of using a free host.

Thanks for posting this and it is all true. If you are going to use a free host, at least plan out how much space you are going to roughly use and then search for the host which gives you that space. I would recommend paid hosts as you would get more control+support however I understand that not everybody can afford to pay for host so if you will use a free host, compare them and find the best one and keep that advice in mind.

I completely agree with everything that Lisa had to say in her video. There is always going to be a price that you are going to have to pay in order to have free hosting. I for one do not like compromising the features that I need in order to gain free hosting.
