If you're looking for a web host

So true ~rolleyes~

It's a shame really, becase every host does it. Having said that, blueHost actually do have their own data center ~razz~

Yea. I made the unfortunate mistake of being drawn into HostGator's hosting, and reading about over-selling on Alex Melens blog about it.

One things for sure, don't go with hosts that oversell.

It's sad how people have to lie to get business. In my opinion, I think if you were to keep everything on the clean side, then you would probably be the most trusted host out there and really busy.

Unfortunately though, people new to Web hosting don't have a clue what "Disk Space", "bandwidth", "overselling" are, so they'd still end up paying for something they think they're entitled to but they're in fact not ~neutral~

Well, more often than not it's hard to find out until you've actually signed up...unless of course you read reviews and do your homework before signing up. It doesn't really matter if you go with an overseller anyway, because normally you don't use anywhere near what you're entitled to. ~lol~

how many people actually use all their disk space and bandwidth in one month?

hardly anybody, unless your running a warez site then you might be uploading a lot of big files and then i could see you running out of disk space and bandwidth.

Bluehost actually does offer unlimited space/bandwidth on my account and they are rated the best host in the world.

That's what they say with mine too, but it's physically impossible. What they do is set your account limits so high that you can't actually reach it. If you go anywhere near the limit then you'll be told you're using excessive CPU usage and either told to upgrade to be suspended.

That's business ~rolleyes~
