Ignorance is bliss?

I believe it is, yes. Why? Because not knowing certain things is better than knowing it (at times), so I'd rather go through life without knowing the things that may hurt me.

But, if ignorance is bliss, why aren't people more happy? There are a lot of unhappy people in this world.

I mean it matters on the situation. The world is full of ways to learn something, just you have to have the want to learn. What I don't like is when people are just too lazy to learn and would rather play the "ignorance" card. Like no, you're just too lazy to actually do something.

Sometimes I think ignorance is indeed bliss. Not knowing something sometimes means peaceful days. But then again, ignorance can bring even bigger complications and situations. So I think we need to be careful on when to decide apply this golden rule.

I believe in ignorance is bliss 100%. Reason being is my 5 year old is oblivious to many things. Partly due to his ADHD, but he is the happiest person I know!

ADHD huh? Ya sure that might not be just a kid being a kid :-\

No. Before meds he would get 3-4s at school everyday. 0 being good and 5 being bad. He would always be talking out of turn and bothering other students. No doing his work in school. Not keeping his hands and feet to himself. Since he started the meds he gets 0s on a constant bases. His grades has also improved. It wears off by the time he gets home. So he can be his kind of normal again.

Yep i believe its true, i might seem self centered but id rather be unaware of the problem and be happy than directly aware and unhappy as crap

It depends on the situation on why Ignorance is Bliss. Somethings do need that ignorance to keep something from getting worse.

No, I don't think so. The ability to question and find the answers is a bliss. A creature with intellect shouldn't opt for ignorance, it's a waste.

I agree. But I think, sometimes, we need to pay no heed to stuff happening, you know? And just enjoy life. I don't know, it may be a more hedonistic view on life. Cheers! 🙂

Not paying attention to stuff happening is a choice. An ignorant doesn't have a choice, he\she is simply not capable of choosing.
