It's dead, and needs to be fixed up. The theme is not something I've made, so that could be one reason I'm not happy. I'm thinking of switching to a free forum till I can get the money and upgrade my license. I am using the old 4.0.2 license, it has some bugs and can't fix them until I upgrade and yeah, don't have the cash right now. So I'm thinking about moving to phpbb till then. I can't help but look at the forum and say "Why would anyone want to join?" To me I feel blah when I go there, so if I feel like that, then yeah. I'm afraid to have it reviewed because I know its not good. I'm the only person on staff right now, I had someone helping me, and well he quit and the place kinda went down. So I think it's time to cheer it up some.

Now I have a question if anyone is reading this. Does Phpbb convert VB 4.0.2? If so how do I go about this? I basically would just like to convert the members and posts over. I am not worried about everything else.

you could use a older more stable version of the software you currently have? going from paid to free is a backwards step in my eyes 🙂

-- 31 Mar 2011, 14:21 --

A converter should have came with your license. I think first you'll have to convert to a lower version then upgrade to the 4.0.2. Be aware that converting and upgrading takes a lot of effort and I'd get a professional to do it.

converting using impex is a fairly simple process, it has never failed for me. I just cant use it on xampp which is the only downside.

I'm wanting to transfer my site to phpbb not phpbb to vb.

I think I might use the lower version in the 3.8 can I downgrade to 3.8.4 fairly easy?

Not really. It would be nice if you could, though.

This is true for any forum software, by the way. vBulletin 3 importers can import vBulletin 4 without a problem (less attachments). Shows how much they actually changed up in the software.
