Image oriented website

How can one rank the image oriented website for a particular keyword in SERP?
Adding the keywords in alt tag of the image is one of the solution and what else?

With my blog I was stuck on this same question for awhile. The things that seem to help are..

Title and Alt tags
Image file name
And a description of each image with keywords.

If you do the following, over time your rank should climb.
