Just found this thread out of random via google an look at the second post, hard to believe that fp started that small.

No doubt it was down to high CPU usage. They are the only reasons i can remember. Our old host (Lunarpages) couldn't cope with this forum with alot less modifications and a fraction of the activity it has now. The forum is now more modded and gets 1000+ posts a day and we don't have any issues relating to CPU (yet). Our old host didn't like it when we were getting a few hundred posts a day. It might also be worth mentioning that they are also a host that offers high disk space and very high bandwidth amounts. They have these high limits (and you pay for these high limits) but you can't use anywhere close to them.
