Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

There is nothing really you can do. They will just say prove it and you can't really. It would just be your word against theirs. Anyway they are not going to be a threat to your forum -lol-

It does show how desperate people can be if they go and copy everything down to the forum names.
 
Funny thing is, I *used* to be an Admin on that forum until he got pissed at me for not sticking up for him for something totally inane. He de-admined me, deleted me off the site, etc.

No, there really isn't anything I can do about it. I mean, other than the fact I've had my site up longer, the forums actually HAVE threads in them, there's nothing I can do.

I half-debated going and changing my forum names again but that's just too tedious.

Some people really need to show some originality instead of being a second-rate knockoff..
 
The same thing happened with advertisement centre, The only thing they changed though was the name (advertisement center) -lol-
 
Yes - Same thing happened to Us at The Forum Directory!
We were copied almost word-for-word by another "directory" or 2 that just sprang up after our idea came to be.
Those CopyCat directory(s) were pretty much a sham with many fake users and posts!
Well, at least one of those so called directory(s) is really failing big time! 😀
The others just won't even compare with ours anymore LOL - they just Do NOT Measure up! :?
Just do what is right on YOUR forum and make it better!
That is what WE do at The Forum Directory!
Those copies Just Do NOT Compare with the Originals!!!

And the same happened to public promotions...

Some people need to use their imagination and make their forum unique.
 
I went and into my cpanel on my host and used the ipdeny feature and input all the ip's that I have just banned from the vbulletin -- supposedly that'll give them a blank page?

If that's the case, can't steal anymore ideas from me now can he! hehe

I just think it's hilarious that he's trying to recruit MY female members who are loyal to ME and know what a d**k he can be. Why go with the fake when they got the original! haha
 
I banned a member for this as he was taing topics and areas copying them word for word and not changing a thing and placing them on his own forum.

I don't know what they will get when they try to enter... The might get a forbidden error page but they won't get in anyway.

Not necessarily as you are banning individual IP's meaning that if their IP's change each time the connect to the internet they could get on next time and not even know that their IP has been banned. If they do have a static IP then the could easily use a proxy to get in and look around.

Cloned sites never turn out as good as the original. Who will sign up at a smaller quiet forum when there is a bigger and more active forum nearly exactly the same?

They will never be as big as yours.

If he's stealing your scripts, there is a Javascript code that disables right clicking, and if he really is as dumb as he sounds, it will work, I'll edit the code in soon
