importing my forum

i have question:

I have a forum with freeforums.org
i also bought a vbulletin license and a host. is there anyway i can convert my freeforum ( which i believe is phpbb) into a vbulletin forum without loosing the data?

Not from free forums anymore a while back you could have bought your data base from freeforums but they no longer offer this service

Or you could purchase their premium hosting and then grab a database backup from that.

The only way your going to get an unencrypted backup from freeforums.org to use elsewhere or convert to vBulletin is by moving over to advanced hosting with them 🙁

It depends on a few factors such as the size of the backup but if they give free backups to all their members when they want them then it will be a never ending job. Plus effectively they will helping you leave them which is not what they want as the want to keep their users, not make it easy and cheap for them to leave.

Nope they wont give it to you for free they don't even do back ups for free. I know i had a huge argument with the founder of free forum

Get the backup then convert to vBulletin

Our point is free forums will not give you a back up. Only way is to order advance hosting for a year. And get your database

I know freeforums.org can get you the database for a price, but I'm pretty sure forumsmotion doesn't give you that option.... unless I'm confusing it with something else.

and impulse lol yea the fzero forum was with forumotion but i was talking about another forum i made that is a forum promotion forum with freeforums.
but then i realized i regesterd my domain as fzerofans so it wouldn't work anyway so i may just end up imorting the forumotion fzero forum 😱

Is the freeforums one still available? They usually delete the forums after a period of time.
