As you already know Betsy my Secretary of Education already plans to end common core.
The best education system at least from my own perspective would be to go back to the system which worked before. Before common core and the tampering and meddling of politics into the education system it used to be about choice, but more so empowering the states to offer education based off what their people wanted for their children, not on what the government wanted. A education system based around common sense that empowers through choices which will over time lead to a free education system like how it should be, but also used to be.
It seems that in public education one reads article after article concerned with improving schools through engaging students and helping teachers to become mentors to their students. This is not how you improve schools. I apologize, but there are so many problems with public education that you cannot simply restate glittering generality after glittering generality such as "teachers should be emotional guides". People in education need to stop altering policy with "feelings" and start altering policy with their intellects.
