Improving Exchanges

we have so much FP$ that we have no idea what to do with it
It's slightly problematic as the prices are overinflated for little sites, while being toilet paper price for people with a huge surplus.

I feel this could be placed under the user's information:

Trader history is kinda out of place.

Well yeah, of course it's easier to buy stuff when you have more to spend. Do we have any statistics on how hard it is for new people to actually get going, though?

Members can now leave feedback on other members that they exchange
I think that is missing as an option. Only buying and selling are available. That would be good for the post exchange section.

Excellent additions that should make the overall exchange policy a better experience.

Moving forward, I think there needs to be a clear "trader feedback" dispute process in place. What Matt explained here in a reply makes complete sense and is likely the best process (for now), but if users don't read the replies to this one announcement they won't know about it. I'm all for making the guidelines topics in the exchange area as simple and short as possible, but this seems like something worth adding a statement about.

Question: Are posts/topic exchanges for USD$ directly still permitted?

We're looking to simplify this part. For now, use:
  • Selling: When the other user created the exchange thread
  • Buying: When you created the exchange thread.
When in doubt, use whichever you think applies better.

Yep, and encouraged. The marketplace can still be used to buy and sell goods and services for cash. We just don't allow buying or selling of things like FP$, reputation points, exchange feedback.
