Overall we find your forum to be a well-established forum which seems to have a stable base. The forum has an anime inspired theme which is perfect for your niche and represents the forum well. We do feel that the colour scheme of bright white and strong red clash a bit too much. We suggest that you either tone down the white to a creamier colour or tone down the red or make it more pastel coloured. The header area with the large anime image we really like. The logo is rather pixelated and could do with some work. You have also kept the default phpBB navigation which looks very out of place; we suggest some custom buttons here. The same goes for the bottom area of the theme where it also looks very default phpBB. You also need to change the black font colour as it is hard to read against the red. We find it a real shame that you have worked really hard on some parts of the theme and neglected others. It is the whole image of the forum that decides whether a new visitor joins or not and there isn’t much that motivates us to join a forum which looks half finished. You also lack other small details such as a favicon which really doesn’t take long to add and can enhance the overall impression of the forum.
You have an average of 58 posts per member which isn’t too bad but we would expect a little more from a forum that is of this age. You as an admin also have a much higher post count than your members which isn’t always a good thing. This can make it look like you are the only one posting and trying to keep the forum alive, you really need to motivate your members to post more and on topic. Another reason for this being that you have far too many members with really low post counts. You do have a good amount of staff though.
The content on your forum is not very unique and the forum lacks anime content that we would expect from an anime forum. You really need to focus on getting more posts in the on topic boards and creating unique discussion as the current discussion looks exactly the same as any other run-of-the-mill forum. You and your staff really need to start working on content. The forum doesn’t give us a very good first impression as the whole forum feels really small when we view it and also due to the theme problems we mentioned earlier it really doesn’t feel inviting.
SEO wise you have done quite well with your Alexa ranking but you are only PR1 and are not even ranking on ASK search engine, Yahoo or MSN search. This shows us that you really need to work on your SEO. The domain you have doesn’t even contain your forum name which makes it hard for new visitors to find your site and hard for search engines to index your site. You have a good amount of backlinks but hardly any which are related to your niche so it isn’t helping your SEO at all. You also lack sitemaps which are a really important part of SEO. We would expect a site of your forums age to have a PR of at least 2. You aren’t registered with DMOZ which really is a must for SEO. A forum which from a first glance looks like it is doing well. When we start digging we discover that this forum requires a lot of attention. There are many things which you have neglected and we get the feel you are more interested in posting than maintaining the forum. Good luck in the future.
