So you promote members to staff your help out on the site.

Once they are staff, the become less active than when they were regular members, or even just don’t log in for a month.

You send them email to remind them about the forum, but still cant get them back, what you guys do when such thing has happened? Just change their status to a normal member?

Depending on the activity level of the forums, absolutely! If it's an active community that needs their services and they just go and leave, they they're of no use to the community, so yes, definitely, demote them! If it's a quiet forum I'm more lenient, I just let it be, because there's usually not enough work to be done for it to truly matter.

Yes, I would demote them so they're are a regular member if they've become inactive.

My forum is over a year old & I've been the only Staff so I haven't had to do this. I agree with others here, I'd demote them to being a regular member without the privileges of being a Staff member.

Evidently it's no different than whether you promoted them or not. They still got bored and left. Members will do that whether you give them a high rank or not.

This is the part where you cut your loss and demote them. Nothing bad about it. If they're not present to do the task that you've empowered them with then there's no point in keeping them on.

Can be at times that staff are so busy in real-life or things can happen that they can't get on you know 😉

I would invite the member over for a huge dinner of Manwiches, mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. I would bring up my concerns as we eat at a nice, leisurely pace. I would draw my line in the sand: the activity must improve, or there will be consequences. However, I would do so with the utmost respect and dignity. This way, the staff member is more likely to take it to heart and make corrections. That's just my approach, though; others may have a different style.

After reaching out to that member with no reply than yes move them back to a normal member until they return
