Incentive for users?

Currently I have a site credit system installed, but I've been thinking of changing it. In this thread, I have some of the things that we offer for sale in our "store". If I'm not going to switch to a different system, what else do you think should be included? What other feedback do you have?

I agree that it's a good idea to offer benefits to your members. However, for a forum like yours I would suggest that the most important factor in your success will be the quality of your content and how helpful it is to your members. That's what your members will be looking for, from a site like yours. Hence, that's what I would focus my time on if I was you.

Perhaps you could get owners of camping related businesses or websites some advertising space in return for their participation.

You can always do reply money or camping supplies for example. But in those cases then the person should have to make a lot of posts in order to get the points required for those.

Hmm... interesting ideas. I agree, I'm trying to get some members who will create new content, and I've been thinking of topics too. I'll work on it, thanks!

I must say the things for sale in the store do not really relate to camping, so to say. ^^;

It is indeed hard to make good use of site credits. If you want to take example, FP is an advertising forum so one of the usage is to use FP cash to buy a domain. That is very related to advertising. As for you, perhaps offering to buy cheap camping products (like, trade) would be the answer but it may be too much for you later on.

Sorry I can't give any ideas, just want to tell you that. Not that the items you have for the site store now are bad, but if it could relate to your niche more, maybe more members will be interested, and in return they will start posting to get the credits.

One of the biggest questions is making use of forum credits. One idea is that if you have a premium service to allow them to upgrade to that with enough credits. Depending on what you offer with your premium service, this might be a great way to get traffic and dedicated participants.

I also recently heard of someone having the idea of supplying dedicated users with stickers. A small token of appreciation. There are a few ways to reward customers, but many people are struggling with the same problem.
