This is a promotion technique to bring your site traffic, by writing a tutorial that uses your site as either the core of the method, or at least one step of it.

Example
Promoting your site is a vital aspect of creating a successful website. There are several ways to do that. Here are some of the most common ways you should promote your site:
-Create a Twitter account and gather REAL followers
-Create a Facebook page that people can Like directly from your website
-Add a mailing list for people that still use email
-Submit images to a website that are funny, interesting, etc and put your site's domain in a corner as a watermark/free advertisement for you!

Here are some uncommon ways you can promote your site:
-Head to ForumPromotion.net and submit your website to their Promotion Directory. Make a new topic for a Peer to Peer review, and also submit a request to 'Battle' someone. All of these things will bring you some traffic.

-Go to ___your site___ and add some comments on their articles in the 'X' category. This category allows comments, has dofollow links enabled, and is widely popular.

-Go to ___your site___ and Submit your link to to their 'Get Noticed' page so you can be added into their free banner rotation on the top of their entire site!

-Go to ___your site___ and Submit your link to their 'Need Help?' page so they'll review your site, give you tips and even post the review online so you can get free promotion!

Note: That is just an example of how writing a tutorial and including your site can bring you some traffic, submissions, etc.
