Inflation in New Zealand is real bad. They put up the minimum wage to $22.70 NZD but the price of everything else goes up to pay the staff of the supermarkets, fast food, etc the extra so everything else goes up. Politicians are actually quite happy with the wage increase but that's because they're not on it!

Tax seems to go up too whenever the minimum wage goes up.

Sounds about right for the rest of the world. It came in the UK everything has doubled and yet people go to work and get paid less 🙁 The weekly payment that I get has gone up to £4 a week extra 🙁 I mean coffee costs more than that nowadays.

Worse that they are fast to put all prices up and yet SLOW putting them down and end of the day Government and rich basted companies are ripping as off

I don't know how it is over there but there are many community groups and activists for the low income/welfare groups that always call out the government to cut the GST off important toiletry items, fruit and vegetables yet the government doesn't do a lot about it.

It is but it's a lot worse in the UK and the problems we have here are largely the result of incompetent politicians who should have stuck to crayons and coloring books.

Our newly appointed Home Secretary for example asked if expenses cover speeding tickets... https://www.thenational.scot/news/2...ed-expenses-cover-speeding-tickets-first-day/

A huge proportion of our MPs are criminally stupid as well as being criminals. At the last count 243 (43%) had criminal records including prison terms: https://www.theipsa.org.uk/freedom-of-information/2018-19/cas-130967

The IMF recently stated the UK will be the worst-performing large economy in the world this year while our Chancellor says we are on the right track for economic growth 🙄 Even Russia has a better financial outlook than the UK.

This is just capitalism and privatization demerits at its top, imagine if govt had few basic things in their hands then govt could have done so much for the public. But here as of now, every thing will run only for short-sighted profits. All CEOs have to show that company yoy profits have increased. Its an annual rate of growth and the big lump that was caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine still had to work its way through the system What's going to be interesting is what happens to the rate in the late summer / early autumn when the flattening off of energy and commodities prices meets the effects of increased pay settlements from last summer

Inflation has become a global phenomena now. I think almost every country is struggling with inflation. We don't even know how the world would recover from this.

It's quite sad this is the issue everywhere! Everybody is feeling it.
