what is better .info or .com domain.......
keep this in mind that now a days rates of .info domains have fallen....

.info sucks , .info is used by many proxy sites and it's the cheapest .

so if you want to build a strong community you have to buy .com (Google loves .coms)

.com is much better , try to find a coupon code.

Best of luck

I personally don't like seeing .info domains and makes me reluctant to join them. I would much rather join a .com, but that's just me.

Not very good reasons there... since proxy sites are leading the web in anonymity, which helps to better us all, and the fact that with money being tight people will go for the cheap domains.

As for the comment about Google loving .com domains, that's utter bull if you know anything about SEO. The domain extension doesn't matter at all, a .info with great content can rank higher than a .com with poor content. With basic SEO know how you can make a co.cc have a SERP rank of 1 (which I did with Chat Topia for awhile). Just like anything else, it takes time and work.

Personally, I don't care what the TLD is, as long as it's a TLD (or close like a co.cc). While I do prefer .com's to .net's overall, just being a .net isn't enough to make me not join a site... i'm now a member on a site with a co.uk domain, and i'm half active there as well.

My Thoughts:
If price is a worry, take the .info. If price doesn't matter, and the .com is available, go ahead and spend the extra few dollars there to get it.

.com hands down, its the most recognizable on the web. .info if you have to but .com if you can get it stick with it. I have several domains and all.com, only one .net and .org.

i also wanted .com domain but had to register .info as the domain i wanted wasnt availiable in .com .......

if this is the first domain you get, go for a .co.cc/.co.nr
they are free
then move to .net/.info
it takes time to get to know each domain

That doesn't make too much sense.

I had a .COM on my first site.. there's not much to know other than which is your domain and which isn't.

That said, .INFO is majorly used by proxy sites and porn sites, it doesn't look too good for a forum.

.com, .net, .org domains look better, at least in my opinion, .info are fine since they are cheap and are for information sites.

This link shouldn't be allowed as it goes to a website with porn adverts.
You might want to remove the link from your quote then... -roll- -😉-

I like .com domains more, but if your making a wiki, or blog .info might be better since you are providing information.

.Com is better, it may cost more but it is worth it. I mean .info is for sites with information, but people buy because it's cheap.
