Insight Forums
Review by Zimm
First Impressions
On first glance, I like the idea of a general discussion forum. The amount of boards isn't overwhelming for a new forum and that's a good thing. The name of the forum is also original and unique. A problem that I have is the overall design, or theme, of the forum as it's used by so many other forums lacking originality.
I was impressed with the spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Everything seems to be structured correctly and professionally which tells me—and potential users—that you are prideful and thorough with your forum.
Good
Design Quality
As stated, I think the forum design lacks originality. In general, the forum theme colors and layout have been used on numerous forums. While it's an appealing design, you could stray from the norm to go with the originality of your forum's name. What colors do you think of when you say the name "Insight Forums?"
I'm biased about the logo—because I made it—but it's different and stands out which is a good thing. The new and old post icons are a nice touch and make the theme stand out more than it would if everything was default.
Average
Site Statistics
Considering the fact that your forum has only been opened to the general public for less than a week, I think your forum statistics are spot on. It is hard to gain forum posts, threads, and members on brand new forums. A suggestion that I have is to make sure that you and any staff that you have are creating new discussion topics on a daily basis. It doesn't matter if you have 1,000 active members, the staff should always remain active and show interest in the forum.
Good
Final Remarks
There is a lot of potential for your forum. If you take my suggestions to heart and make the forum more original in design, your forum will likely take off quickly. Combine the design with active staff who post new threads and reply to discussions on a daily basis, your forum could receive a large increase in members and posts. Keep advertising and doing what you're doing. Best of luck from me to you.
