Try this:
1.Backup your site.
2. Upload automod as a .zip to your forum root,.
3. Extract/Unzip the Automod file.
4. Click on the Upload folder under your forums root.
5. Move all the files from upload to your forum directory.
6. point your browser to: yourname.com/install
7.Install automod through that.
8. Delete the install root after installed
