I need the Announcement centre MOD added to my phpbb3 based forum.

Is anyone willing to do it for me ?

Installing Automod will do it for you. I can install automod for your, then all of your mods will take 2 seconds to install

Automod, meh, wayyyy too buggy, do it the hard way, it is a lot better.

I looked at auto mod as a solution, there are loads of issues with it according to the phpbb3 forum

Seriously, don't use automod.

Why don't you learn to install mods? Everyone who can install mods have learnt themselves and you don't really need any php knowledge. Just install a test forum and then try adding a mod and if it messes up then so be it. You can just reinstall it or just reupload some clean phpBB files over it.

Many people think it is hard. It isn't. You open a file, search for a line of code and then paste another line of code after it or before it depending on where it tells you to paste it. It seriously isn't that hard. It might take a while to build confidence in your ability but it is pretty simple to do.

If you learn yourself, it will save you money as not many people install mods for free or for forum cash. If someone offers to do it for free, you have to watch their motives. By allowing them to add mods, you are giving them cpanel (or ftp) access. They can delete you whole forum in seconds. Some people claim to want to help you for free but will delete it.

Thanks for the advice, and it is good advice.

My problem is I tried to install this once before and cocked up my forum good and proper, Icouldn't even access the ACP to do a recover, so I'm very reluctant to try again.

However I shall think about setting up a dummy to practice on :great:

Have you looked at the smf forums?

These have a package manager which 99 times out of 100 do not require any manual edits.

I have 3 forums on smf of which one is a test forum which you would be welcome to look at.

I'm using Lame at the moment, funny thing is on the free board the announcement centre was included, when I switched to paid hosting it wasn't, tbh honest I feel a bit ripped off, but they are refusing to install anymore MODS due to the impending release of phpBB 3.0.6

This MOD would be really helpful to my forum, I've just spent an whole hour doing it on a test forum, and yes I cocked it up again !!
