Installing phpBB MOD

So, I haven't done it in so long, I forgot how. I want to do it through the file manager in cPanel, but I remember exactly what to do.

So, if someone could just give me a brief rundown on what to do, that would be great.

First download the Mod you want to install.

There should be instructions in the area you installed them

Just upload it and follow the instructions.

They will be things like " Go to this file and copy it to this area" Or go to this file and past this code underneath this code"

Be sure to notice the "Add Before", "Add After" and "Replace With".

If these aren't followed right, errors occur and it can be a pain to do the whole process in erverse if you don't know where you went wrong.

Back up all the files that you're going to edit just in case, I see so many people shutting down forums because the didn't install a MOD right and couldn't figure out where it went wrong.

Personally I wouldn't do this through cPanel. Download the affected files, make the changes and then upload them via FTP.

I always found it easier to do it through thr cPanel.

Install Automod, which installs phpbb mods automatically.

It can cause errors with custom themes..

It only really occurs with pre-modded Prosilver and custom themes.

Ya, I had trouble with AutoMOD when I used it on my main forum when it was on phpBB. It messed up the theme. 😛
