Instant SSL vs Old Fashioned Way

It can be a pain - but some hosts have instant SSL and they probably don't - on average, tack the price as an extra bill. Well, the SSL stuff - takes a bit tech know-how and time - and you might end up paying even more money - to get someone to do it for you.

O.K., who has tried instant SSL? How would you compare things? Myself, I liked the instant SSL - but I'm already on a server I like (for most of my stuff) - so I will just keep paying extra, somewhat, for the old fashioned way.
 
I make use of the LetsEncrypt in the cpanel offered. my host hawkhost offers that.
